Not the Knox I like, so blow the fuse outright
INTRO
As everyone knows, Samsung’s unique Knox fuse mechanism makes unlocking the Bootloader extremely expensive.
- Losing the warranty: once the Knox fuse trips, you lose the factory warranty.
- Some features stop working: certain security features, such as Samsung Pay and Knox security protection, become unavailable. Even if you restore the stock system, some functions may still not come back. Most system apps are effectively dead.
- Limited software updates: because the device is flagged as fused, system updates may be restricted or fail. (Though if you’ve already unlocked the bootloader, do you even need OTA?)
The main issue is still that most system apps are effectively dead, and apps like Samsung Health can’t be used. That one really hurts.
The Knox Patch introduced in this article was born to solve this problem.

- KnoxPatch-v0.8.0.apk

tip
Because it’s integrated into Quick Share, devices running One UI 5.1 or lower may need PIF or a similar program for this feature to work properly.
Older devices running One UI 2.x or 3.x with FBE need an extra patcher installed in the system partition to fix the Secure Folder issue. Download the module zip from the latest release and install it through a custom Recovery; this will apply the patches needed to fix Secure Folder. The zip also creates a backup of the original system files, and flashing it again restores them.
LET’S GO
- First, make sure you have root through Magisk/KernelSU/APatch or another su manager, and that the LSPosed module is installed
- In Magisk modules, flash
KnoxPatch-Enhancer-v0.4.zip - In LSPosed, tick all the recommended apps.
- Reboot your device, and your Knox Patch will take effect. You can now use the vast majority of system apps normally.
Final words
Unlocking the bootloader on a Samsung phone is extremely costly, and we don’t recommend it. The vast majority of problems can be solved with Shizuku and Scene, disabling whichever system apps you don’t like, and disabling anything won’t crash the system or freeze the screen.
By comparison, vivo’s system ignores ordinary adb tools, and on Xiaomi disabling apps makes it very easy to crash the system or freeze the screen.
As of now, One UI 8 has removed the OEM unlock option, which means bootloader unlocking will no longer be allowed in the future. The era of custom flashing is finally coming to an end.
